Note the link below to finding speed traps everywhere in the country. Of course, for Bay County it is the new Hathaway bridge. My wife and I cross the bridge into town around 8:30AM on Sunday mornings. Virtually always, there are several hidden FHP cars on the west end with radar aimed at traffic coming down the Thomas Drive flyover. More often that not, there are Panama City police cars doing the same thing at the east end of the bridge. Someone said Sunday is changeover day at beach condos and hotels so many tourist are leaving for home. Without a doubt, a speed trap ticket leaves a sour taste at the end of a vacation. It happened to me while leaving a resort on the east coast of Florida more than 20 years ago and I have never returned.
