Holidays are never complete without tasty treats and divine drinks.  I know for a fact, most of my Holiday memories have always revolved around what’s cooking in the kitchen. Meals are usually followed up by grandpa conked out on the couch, grandma in a tizzy over the amount of dishes we managed to dirty up and kids running amuck from sugar overload.

Since everyone should have this experience, at least once, during the holidays- we’ve compiled some of our time-tested recipes for you.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

This uses cooked eggs for safety, and you can use more or less rum to taste.
*Pregnant ladies, with the rum and the eggs, it’s best not to go this route. Obviously.

This is good……. really good! I think everyone loves to see & try cooking new dishes, it breaks us from being bored fo what we do cook! lol lol
I’ve not baked apples in ages….. sounds wonderful teamed with porkchops.
Maybe some of the readers could submit recipes?

It’s my pleasure!! I LOVE cooking, although, sometimes I try to get to adventurous and my Husband sneaks out for pizza. haha.. Note to self: do not try fondue again. haha! I would love it if you guys shared some recipes with me!

Hello Rya…….
Here is a great recipe for your column if you would like to use it.
I served this at my home for Christmas dinner with our baked ham…. easy, quick & well enjoyed!
It’s easy to make & compliments any type of meat served. If you are having a large crowd…. it can be doubled.
Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole
1 30 oz. package of Hash Browns (thaw)
1 stick of melted butter/marg.
1 16 oz. sour cream
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 cup of chopped onion
1 bad (2 cups) shredded sharp cheese
Mix all together and spoon into 9×13 greased baking pan.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour
* If you do not like Cream of Chicken Soup, you can use Cream of Mushroom Soup. Experiment, you may also add chopped mushrooms to this dish when using the Mushroom soup.
Either way, it’s a crowd pleaser!
