The tent started going up Monday and was completed yesterday with performances to begin June 13th at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach. The performers will be here full time beginning June 1.

“Over the next couple of weeks, it will transform into something like a city,” said Chad Matthews, director of the FSU Flying Circus.

There will not be any animal acts, but tons of acrobatic and aerial productions in the nightly show. The FSU Flying Circus will perform 6 nights a week from June 13th to August 2nd at 7pm with matinée performances on July 4th and 5th starting at 3pm. Price of admission is $24 for adults, $16 for kids and kids under 4 are free.

I was out there this morning and will continue to go and take pictures of the progress as they get it all together. I asked if they rotated performers each night so all the performers didn’t have to work every night. The answer was no, each performer performs each night, and that they are is pretty good shape now, but they’ll be in really great shape at the end of the summer. I should say so!

This summer, there will also be 1 week day camp sessions for kids from June 23 to July 31. The cost is $258 per child. To find out more information, visit their website, or call 850-249-1101. Be sure to tell them that you read about it on pcbdaily.com.

A circus without animal acts. Finally!! The only performers will be those who have made conscience decisions to perform, whatever it is they do. My only complaint, thus far, is the exhorbitant price of admission. $24 for adults and $16 for kids. Sounds like another attempt to gough the vacationer, however, the residents are also being goughed. Perhaps they will offer a resident discount. If not, we likely won’t being seeing any death defying acts except for the ones now seen at the crosswalks in front of Walmart.

Sounds exciting and a great addition to the Beach, however, I agree with the price issue for residents !!!
