Maybe people in New York don’t want us to have a new airport, but from this poll you can tell the people of Bay County want one. It was approved, lets get it done.

Yes I support the airport relocation. To obtain your full potential, PCB must have a larger airport.

Panama City Beach/Panama City needs a new airport so that we can compete w/other areas. So that we can attract new Businesses large and small. I have supported this from the beginning and have voted that way. Many people I have spoken with also want the New Airport. We need to obtain this areas full potential with longer runways. Why would people in NY care about what is happening in PC/Bay County?
It will be much quicker to drive over the bridge to 388 to get to the New Airport, than to Drive to Tallahassee or Pensacola which I do now. And it would be away from the City where it can not expand at all NOW!!

YES times 1000. I think the pharmacist(he) who works at Lynn Haven Winn Dixie and the others who are part of this group are so selfish. The impact of NOT getting the airport would do such damage to others, it would be devasting but obviously he and the others in his group do not care. It is all about them not having to cross the bridge to use their private plane or not have to go far from their residence to fly…what a reason to kill others jobs or deprive others of what a new “international” airport will bring to our area. This will be the highest tech airport in the world……The concept of this here is wonderful.

We need this airport. Panama City and PCB will truly be the Palm Beach of the Panhandle and this will provide jobs and increase and stablize everything about our values etc.

An undeniable Yes to supporting the new airport.

As a real estate agent, my livelyhood depends on our area being prosperous.

Having an international airport provides our area with several unique opportunities:

We will be the only such hub within 200 miles. This will allow us to gain a unique economic advantage over several of our closest city neighbors.

It will give us the opportunity to offer business incentives as represented by the State of Florida to outside industries (tax incentives, land incentives etc).

Using these incentives we will be able to offer large corporations options for opening HQ’a in our area. This in turn will begin to fuel our economy with higher paying careers, more tax dollars, increased revenue for local businesses etc.

It will entice large work force industries to locate a facility in our area. Again offering our residents higher paying careers, increased tax revenue, increased business revenue.

To keep up with the pace of this expected growth we will need ‘free-thinking’ representatives at the local level to expand our infrastructure to support our growth. We will need representatives who can deliver: new road and ‘make-sense’ community development plans, new schools, increased tourism exposure, increased family oriented entertainment venues, street lights that are timed correctly to deliver proper traffic patterns in high density areas.

The list is endless as to what we as a community will be able to achieve with the new airport.

I’m crossing my fingers that the judges from NY will begin to see the error of their ways, and stop getting involved in an issue that is unrelated to their districts.

To my knowledge, those who oppose the airport have never submitted facts to represent any reason why a new airport is needed. The claim that the current airport incoming and outgoing traffic is not enough to warrant the move is irrelevant. They are not opening their eyes to the potential of what this new airport can do for our community.

Thank God for people who have vision and common sense.
The rebel who heads those who oppose the new airport does this for a living. It’s time for those who want a prosperous lifestyle for our children and grandchildren to stand up and speak out. It would be a shame for this area to turn into a white elephant because of a few. Thanks St.Joe and Bay County for making this a better place to WORK and LIVE.

Eglin AFB will transition from a Command Base to a Jet Fighter Training Base in less then 2 years from now. As such Okaloosa Regional Airport will be closed to all commercial and private air traffic use. The new Bay County Airport will become the only hub within hundreds of miles. That fact alone should alert everyone to the crucial need for the new airport.

We need this airport for future growth for our area.
Airports bring business and also determine how other areas view us. In todays paper, Johm McCain passed us over due to the length of time it would take out of his schedule to get from an acceptable airport to Callaway. He is speaking in Pensacola, and Ft. Walton based on the time it takes to access the area. he is sending some veterans to speak on his behalf!

This is a prime example of the reality of our current position with the current airport.

Respectully,

Mike Denton

This subject aggravates me more than the argument of keeping spring break around……COMMON SENSE…..
YES WE NEED AN AIRPORT……NO WE DONT NEED SPRING BREAK……how in the world can this county grow with the SAME old situation its been in……..you must be a serious moron to not see the potential or just outrageously selfish to take something that would be so great for the area away…..and about spring break..NO ONE wants to come here BECAUSE of the kids…what does that tell you….meanwhile Destin is packed with people 365 days a year…. WAKE UP PEOPLE

I just wanted to clear up when i said kids, i meant drunk spring break kids……as an example, a yr ago i went to a seminar at the boardwalk beach during spring break and all around you were spring breakers screaming at the top of their lungs dangling off balconies and throwing beer cans and bottles everywhere…….i understand kids want to have fun…..but since PCB its trying to clean up we cant keep them here………..

As I’ve said before, who comes to vacation, or anything else, in Panama City? The Beach is where the future is. As far as the “granola bar” chewing radical environmentalists go, I will gladly buy one a one-way ticket to California from the current airport if they promise not to come back! Of course it would take more ozone damaging fuel seeing that the flight would have to go several hundred miles out of it’s way via Atlanta to get there instead of a direct flight.

It’s hard to believe that a few people for selfish personal reasons will try to stop a project so vital to the economic growth of an entire region. I don’t think the recreational activities of a few should be put ahead of the economic health of many both now and in the future. It’s ridiculous for anyone who cares about this area to try to stop the best thing that has come along in our lifetime for the future prosperity of NW Florida.

The decision facing Bay County on the airport relocation is one that trancends our generation. The impact on Northwest Florida will carry on to our children and grandchildren. Industrys locating here will deversify our economy from the 3 legs we currently have; military, toursium, and paper products into a more stable economy not as subject to economic down turns we now experience with seasonal employment, Base realignment and closure, hurricane scares. This decision should not be based on our own wants but on the needs of this area to sustain vibrant, deversified growth in the future.

sound right. Take PCB with it.

Our Country is in trouble. The economic expansion of our great Country has been stopped by lobbyist that won’t allow the USA to create new economic developments. The USA was once the World leader in economic development, this allowed us to invest in emerging markets and help create what is now a World economy. Now we have decided to do away with the ability to create new jobs and are on the fast track to another great Depression. The stopping of the New Bay County, Panama City Airport is just another giant step in destroying the USA ecomomy and its survivability. The Country needs economic expansion now!!! This Country needs the 100,000 plus jobs this New Airport will bring to this area over the next 10 years. We have not had an Airport or an Oil Refinery built in this Country for 20 years, surely this is not because we don’t need them.
We must do our best to protect the environment but things have gone too far. We must protect our Nation and its People. The Land set aside for environmental preservation around the New Airport is unprecedented. This Airport has taken 10 years to get this far through the maze of permitting and planning processes. In any other Country like Saudi Arabia, China, India, Russia, Iran or Europe there People and the Nations would already be benefiting from its Installation. These and other Countries are certainly benefiting from the USA not expanding our Oil drilling and Refining and we are paying for it now. It is good to share the wealth and to help feed the Worlds People no other Country does like the USA does. There comes a time when we must reinvest in our Nation to help protect the welfare if its people. The wealthy Companies and Individuals of this Great Nation need opportunities here so they don’t have to send all their investment capital out of the Country to get a return on their money. The New International Airport is crucial for the future of our Nations economic development and expansion. Additional opportunities Nationwide must be freed up to help this Great Nation’s stressed economy as well.

YES, I am in favor of the airport. In the beginning I was hesitant, so I took it upon myself to question, listen and debate the pros & cons with people whom I very much respect. In the final inning the pros won & I was convinced that I had taken a wrong stand. Hopefully, I’ll always remain informed enough on an issue, to change my mind/stand if my point of view is proven to me to be inferior.

I strongly feel that the people who are suing and costing us so much extra time, money & effort–should be publicized individually and held responsible.
