Among worldwide favorites such as Copenhagen, Hawaii, and Melbourne Australia, Northwest Florida’s Beaches have been named in Frommer’s most recent list of Top Destinations.

They forgot the rest (Emereld Coast), from Pensacola to Mobile Bay. Much more enjoyable and friendly to the Snowbirds.

We don’t appreciate what we have here. My friends came down from Minnesota in March, and spent a week here, and another week divided between Disney and a Tampa-area beach. Their kids liked Panama City beach better than the rest of the vacation.

Please notice that Frommer’ refers to the “Florida Panhandle Beaches” and to “northwest Florida” when commenting about “Stunning beaches, nature trails … great restaurants, and a cozy, yet quirky, sense of community.” Our collective area has so much to offer with, “some of the most diverse recreation choices along Florida’s drastically under-appreciated Gulf coast, and some of the best options for visitors seeking an affordable family vacation.”

We will see the most benefit for our area when we are willing to market our area collectively. We fail to achieve all that is possible for our area because our marketing dollars are too splintered. A pooling of resources would buy much more for our area than is currently being achieved. A rising tide lifts all boats. So would a combined marketing effort benefit all participants collectively and individually.

One of our areas competing with another results in splitting the same pie. A combined marketing effort would result in splitting a larger pie. Our competition is not each other along the Florida Panhandle, the Emerald Coast, or THE Beach. Our main competition are the beaches of North and South Carolina, and south Florida. Lets move beyond the “Redneck Riviera” mentality and market our area collectively. Lets show the world all our diverse area has to offer. Once we do this the guests can choose which of our areas best suits their needs. Doing this we all win. All of our area, and our guests.
