Pier Park is Hoppin'

I was out at Pier Park tonight, and it was crazy – and I don’t even think it was a busy night. There were people everywhere.

I was talking to the mall manager the other day and he was telling me that the place really starts to fill up around 5:30 and stays busy until close to midnight! Almost every time I go there, I can’t hardly find a parking place in the big lot on the east and usually end up having to walk a while.

I was talking to someone the other day about how there seems to have been so much pent up demand, now that we have great shopping, it almost doesn’t seem like enough.

There are almost 100 stores open now, with more than 30 more slated to open in the near future.

I’d say Pier Park is a huge success, and keeps getting better.

More pictures after the break.

  1. I agree, Pier Park was long needed. It is such a fun place to be! We will drive down from Dothan to eat at Margaritaville and check out all the shops.

Isnt there another phase of pier park still to come? I thought I had seen signs on the land next to it. It would be worth developing if I were in charge of PP for Simon.

  3. Pier Park is nice, Margaritaville, a great experience. PCB has a long way to go to be a family friendly beach. Was there in early June for a week, Had an awesome time at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. There needs to be a better selection of restraunts, that are a little more reasonably priced. There needs to be sidewalks on FBR. To many people walking on the side of the raod. Go check out Myrtle Beach for a good blue print on making PCB a family friendly beach. Had an awesome time will be coming back in the future.

  4. The new Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge is awesome.
Great place to hear some good music. Bands play from 6 to 10pm then 10 to 2 am straight.
Could be country, old rock & roll, or mixed.
Lots of dancing and meeting great people!
Drinks are a little high yet don’t forget there is no cover charge for great musicians from Nashville.
They even get the women up on the bar dancing every night !
This was a much needed place for the beach!

  5. We visited Tootsies PCB, FL during Fall Bike week this year. We had such a blast. The service was quick, the ribs were the best I’ve ever tasted, the beer was cold, and the bands were awesome. We will be back again and again. Thanks.
