Friday night, the second annual Taste of The Beach Panama City Beach edition (properly known as Taste of The Bay) was packed out with wet palettes, hungry bellies and super fancy diggs.  With literally hundreds in attendance, the main boardwalk area of Pier Park was closed off to cars and rang entertainingly with smooth music and relaxed conversational banter.  We gave away 8 tickets and hundreds more were sold online.

Read on for the numbers.

Now, my wife and I aren’t wine-drinkers; in fact, we don’t drink at all, but this event was truly remarkable in that it provided an opportunity for people to come together in arguably the most beautiful public gathering spot in Panama City Beach.  With the colorful architecture of Pier Park surrounding every move we made, the experience was pleasurable as our taste buds were lit with flavors from various local restaurants such as Boar’s Head, Calypso and Dee’s Hangout.

With hundreds over 200 wines to taste from, guests strolled with their provided glass sipping from table to table, rinsing with Culligan water in between.

As of Friday evening, online ticket sales totaled around 440 with around 60 tickets purchased by those just walking up.  There were 13 local restaraunts represented at the event.  As a result of this successful event, each of the 11 charities across the coast will each receive $1,500.

I really enjoyed this event and will make it a yearly “thing”…it was very tastefully done, no pun intended and I tried some fantastic wines and some great food from places I hadnt been to yet, but will surely visit now!

It was a first class event, orchestrated to perfection. It was our first one and I have already invited friends to come down next year for this event. I told them it was not to be missed.
Cudo’s to everyone involved and a big thank you for such an enjoyable evening.
We can not wait until the next one.
