How many unspecting parents give their kids money to come to Panama City Beach for Spring Break? How many might have second thoughts if they saw this kind of picture? The TDC should be compelled to use these pictures to advertise Spring Break to the masses. Just maybe, if the parents knew what it can be like here, some
would keep their children home where it is safe instead of sending them into this hornet's nest! We hear about the kids who are killed and maimed here, but how many others carry scars, perhaps for life, that we never hear of and are not aware of? Why is it that we promote something that puts young people in jeoopardy?

Like Dennis Fuller said above, the fines should be assessed to the people that are doing the littering, not necessarily the "owners". When people start having to pay $250 out of their "beer money", they will be more likely to pick up their trash. But...who will monitor the beaches and write the citations?

What about using crews from the local jails or folks doing community service on probation to clean up the beach in the afternoons, like they do on some roadways? We get the beaches cleaned up without using too much additional taxpayer dollars.

I like the $250 enforcement clause. Part of my 5% TDT is apparently subsidizing folks who are too lazy to pick up after themselves AND THOSE WHO CATER TO THEM AND DON' DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE TRASH. I say LAY IT ON THEM AND THANK YOU FOR THE EXTRA $250/DAY REVENUE.

I would strongly encourage the TDC to stop spending money to get MTV to the beach. Also, I hope the TDC is no longer spending our tourist tax dollars to advertise in college towns. The TDC should advertise in cities where there are larger populations to get the family business...i.e., Indianapolis, Atlanta, St.Paul, etc. I have lots of Customers from these areas. I am sure families spend more $$$ than the kids that tear up everthing including our beautiful new resorts! It is next to impossible for the resort managers to keep the kids out. My husband and I have been condo owners since 1998.

I wish we could direct the enforcement toward those people who are actually doing the littering and not just "owners along the corridors most traveled by tourist". Not all owners are directly profiting from the litter bugs.

Stop the promoting of the Spring Breakers drunks & problem solved. The city talks about PCB becoming a world class destination with first class developments , such as Pier Park, luxury condos & international airport with drunks & garbage dump beaches? TDC does not understand the requirements to bring in quality family vcationers.

Ditto- I am also against bigger government, but penalties do need to be inflicted on imbeciles who use the world as their own personal trash can. Even my youngest child knows where trash goes, you would think persons in college would know be able to figure out what to do with their garbage.
